Trinamool Congress leader Kunal Ghosh participated in a Ram Navami procession in Kolkata on Sunday, joining from the Thanthania Kalibari area along with party councillors. Ghosh appeared in a distinctive look and emphasized that the procession was a symbol of communal harmony. He said, “Hindu-Muslim bhai-bhai,” highlighting the participation of several members from the Muslim community in the event. He stated that they also take part in Eid celebrations and that religious processions may differ, but festivals are for everyone.
Ghosh referred to this inclusive participation as part of the “Bengal Model” and “Bengal’s culture.” The rally saw Trinamool councillors arriving one by one and joining the procession. According to Ghosh, the aim was to promote peace and goodwill among communities. He said, “We have participated in the holy Eid of Muslims, and Muslims are joining Ram Navami processions.”
